pavement

"pavement, objects, designs, shadows, cobblestones, graffiti, manhole covers, marks on pavement that, deliberate or not are designs by virtue of our framing them." -- a flickr group. (above - my contribution). by the way, whatever happened to that band?

to market, to market

i really liked this rolling wicker market basket from mothology as seen on the latest personal shopper slideshow from this weekend's nytimes site.

apparantly it's sold out right now (due to the nytimes article), but we can get one in august when they should be back in stock.

tattoo your home

there is something about embroidery and tattoos that surprisingly go well together as a coworker and i were agreeing about the other day.

preferring handmade embroidery of course, but if you don't have the time and would like a vintage tattoo pillow, this one from the original vintage tattoo brand, sailor jerry could do the trick.

$25 (14" x 13")

frozen sailboats

one of my favorite summer treats is the popsicle. i'm always toting a box home from the grocers, and can't seem to keep the freezer stocked.

perhaps these sailboat ones from cuisipro would entice me to make my own. they even come with their own yummy recipes. (you can download the recipes from their website - click on what's new and then scroll to the ice pop molds).

happy canada day!

it's canada day today, and in celebration i'm really thinking about making this miniature potted pond for our deck.

also there's a canada day art market at blim (if you live in vancouver). near main and 17th! should be a good show!

and for some cooking fun the great canadian grill guide!

have a great holiday long weekend!
