luau lamp

loved this luau lamp from vessel when i saw it in delight.com's newsletter this week.

it's a portable lamp that lights up when lifted from it's base. it can be dimmed or turned off to conserve the charge until you need it.

runs for 6 - 10 hours.

new egg press

just received an email from our friends at egg press letterpress letting us know they have some new cards online and just in time to order for valentines!

they have four new collections of valentines, love, friendship, and thank you cards.to choose from. click here to see them.

they will also be releasing a handful of new letterpress styles soon to retail stores and they have indulged their extravagant side with several new three-color designs. (sneak peek above).

influences, train marking and graffiti

i have so many things i want to start this year and one of them is to try hand lettering. i know i keep going back to margaret kilgallen, but her work says so much to what is still relevant in art today if not more so. even though this interview was back in 1999, her viewpoint of handmade is so present and worth a review. i also like her explanation of graffiti and it's validity in perspective to commercialism.

the first time i saw herman yu's cards i was smitten, and now i see she has a 2007 calendar out.

hamburgers, fonts & chips

a new year and time for a new font (and in this case the odd dingbat as well). dafont and k-type bring us mail art graphics. lots of stamps, postal related images, and the odd banknote. click here to download.
