From the Desk of...

Present and Correct have made some new "From the Desk of" stamps for back to school or back to anything as far as we're concerned. A perfect way to present a letter, business card, envelope or essay. They are made in Dorset, England, out of beech wood and there are three designs; a typewriter, some sticky notes and a pencil/ruler combo. They all say "from the desk of" with space for you to fill in your name. How cute!

We don't just do weddings!

Whilst Reviva Weddings are obviously associated with planning, styling and creating fabulous weddings, we are stylists for all occasions and often turn our hands to other celebrations.

Last night was no exception and we were hired by a family vacating here in a private villa situated in the Marbella Club.

Our brief was to descend upon the villa last night whilst the family were out having a celebration dinner at the fabulous restaurant Babilonia at Olivia Valere, and turn the villa into a beautifully decorated birthday surprise for when the mother returned with her family.

I have to confess we felt like stalkers creeping in at 10pm and within 2 hours the transformation was completed!

We had completely decorated the villa with flowers, lanterns and candles and fabulous balloon displays.

Here is the text message we received in the early hours of this morning after the family had returned.

Hello Laura!  Thank you so much for the lovely decoration.  My mother was overwhelmed with joy when we got back home.   The flowers, candles and balloons are amazing!  Thank you, the both of you, for this breathtaking setting.

This is unforgettable birthday and I shall definitely be contacting you for any future events.

I hope to see you again real soon.

I could never do this solo so a huge thank you to my fantastic team of professionals, Loraine for the fabulous flowers and to Silvia for the wonderful balloons :)  I was playing the skivvy, sweeping up and fetching and carrying :) 

Tales of a Handmade Wedding

Today we are excited to share a handmade wedding across the pond of Artemis Russell and Nao Utsumi (whom you may know of from The Bucket Tree, their jewelry shop Rust or their blog Tales of a Junkaholic). They recently married on the Isle of Wright at Appuldurcome House {a derelict 18th century building} on the 14th August 2010. The talented couple made everything themselves.







The rings were made by the couple, with help from Darren their engraver. If you would like something like this please visit their RUST Jewellery Workshop. They were presented by Nao's mum inside a cockle shell {from the Isle of Wight naturally!} with Liberty print lined by Armetis. Her dress is from 1931 {but totally reworked by her} and cost just £2.99! Nao wore a 1930s cotton jacket and short trousers with grey plimsolls. They bought all the flowers in the market {at 4am!} where they had clematis, dahlias and peonies, plus lots of greenery.

After the ceremony, they made their way to Afton Apple Orchard for lunch. They printed out the menus on brown recycled paper and used herbs in old pots with white ribbon and flags to decorate the cafe table. Artemis' mum made the cake, a lemon sponge with garlands of herbs and marigolds!










They knew there were some kids coming to the wedding, so they fished around their flat, and made up a basket of vintage toys. They used Liberty fabric {amongst charity shop finds} to make the bunting. Nao made some bunting from old sheet music too!




Instead of paying for a hotel during their wedding, the couple bought a canvas bell tent, and parked it in Artemis' mum's garden. It is on a cliff overlooking the sea. Below a few of the papergoods they made before the wedding.

Last Day of our Back to School Market!

Today marks the last day of our online Back to School market, and if we do say so ourselves, did that not just fly by? The market will stay open until this evening, where you can still pick up some awesome handmade and vintage one of a kind things! And after we clean up over the weekend we'll be launching our newest themed market, Mixed Tape! Where we'll be featuring a compilation of more beautiful wares. Help find Hiker Tyler Wright Through Videos (There's Still a Chance)!

I know this post is totally off-topic, but we have a lot of eyes here - and the family and friends of Tyler Wright need your help. Tyler went hiking just off the Boise Creek Trail near Mamquam Pass (near Vancouver) on August 10th and was last seen at 4:30pm at the beginning of the Boise Creek Trail. He was expected home on August 16, 2010 and didn't show up.

Since then huge efforts have been made to try and find him. The family has hired helicopters to help with the search and rescue and have posted the videos online. They are asking viewers to help by watching the videos to see if you spot anything. The instructions are also at these videos of what colors to look out for, and how to leave a comment if you find something. If you have time, something like this would be really be wonderful to do for Tyler and for his family. I lost a brother years back in a similar situation (only, on water) and we were so thankful for the hundreds of people who came out to dredge the river to finally find him and a friend. He had been knocked out by a log when their canoe capsized. But what's so important is that we finally did find him.

The family also is accepting donations to help in their effort for helicopters, boats etc. Visit a blog they set up here to guide you with the videos, info, etc.

I've taken a look at some of these video's and it's hard. But if you know of anyone, even children who might be really good finding things. Anything is possible and worth a try.
