Reviva Rock!

What can I say about this wedding, it was beautiful, understated, utterly charming and stylish and for me certainly one of our favorite weddings this year, definitely a Reviva Wedding!

I think these photos certainly portray how beautiful this wedding was and always I am indebited to Jeremy for allowing me to publish these beautiful photographs and share them with you. It was actually quite a story as to how this wedding came into fruition which I would like to share with you.

Natalie´s parents had already booked Los Monteros as a venue for their daughter´s wedding to Scott, but realised that they needed help, they had the venue but nothing else.

They voiced this concern to James at The Arte Cafe in Elviria, so James immediately pointed to me and Anoulka who were sitting across the square enjoying a quiet cocktail after a busy day at a wedding.

Natalie´s parents came to join us and we chatted weddings, showed them our work and portfolios and a long story but having had out chat we were immediately booked to oversee and manage the rest of this fabulous day and put together the jigsaw puzzle for them.

We then quickly rang around and enlisted our A team, who amazingly were all available in the middle of June, and the rest was history.

I have to say this particular wedding for me was what the A team and Reviva are all about.

It was stylish, beautifully put together with some very special personal details. Natalie had a necklace made for her wedding with a gorgeous silver sea shell theme detail so we continued this into the overall wedding design with a very understated look by adding in tiny silver starfish to decorate the wedding fans to incorporating silver seashells into the centrepieces.

We decorated the event with pale pink peonies and lilies set around hurricane lanterns, created the bridal bouquets in pink dreamy peonies with silver details, scattered the tables with tiny silver shells, Anoulka designed wedding stationery using a pale pink and silver theme with small pearl and silver starfish details, the whole look was subtle, dreamy and divine for a beach side setting at the stunning setting of La Cabane Beach Club.

We organised Natalie´s hair and make up with the fabulous Kathryn Parr, Photography of course with Jeremy, the photographer god ;) Rob the DJ and the divine sea shell cake from Sweet Things by Fi.

We were thrilled with the results and Carla´s careful attention to details overseeing this wedding left no stone unturned and I love this photo of Carla, our head of planning, at the end showing her true dedication to the day, a very serene photo of our hugely organised planner!

Here is our testimonial from Natalie and Scott

Thank you Carla and the team at Reviva Weddings, I could not have organised my dream wedding in Spain without you! I only had to travel to Spain once to meet with the suppliers and Carla organised and managed the rest of the process on my behalf. A few emails went back and forth and when I arrived a week before the wedding it was all organised. Carla was with me from start to finish and offered help and advice in all areas. I really do feel we had the best Marbella had to offer, from Jeremy Standley the photographer, to Fiona and the cake, the standard was outstanding.

My wedding day was everything I wanted and went without a hitch, Carla was even there when the last person went home! I want to thank you all for for your hard work and effort to make my wedding day the most special day of my life.

Hans Christian Andersen Fairytale Wedding

I found this wedding tonight on Facebook from Wedluxe Magazine.

A very different style to our previous post but again I have a client in mind who is getting married here in September when I saw this beautiful interpretation of a fairytale wedding and love the elegant airy and light underwater inspired details.

A very soft and sophisticated theme and love the use of the silver twigs and seaweeds plus the pearls and seashells and all the beautiful crystal details.

We recently did a very similar theme at the Los Monteros hotel all based around a beautiful seashell and starfish necklace our bride had especially made, we will be posting this wedding shortly.

I do think different textures on the tables make such a difference to the normal white table linens, white plates, glassware, etc that is usually provided. If a bride can add in a table cover perhaps in silver, tie the napkins with ribbons and a tiny silver starfish or pearl detail and just add some finishing details this just lifts everything and makes such a difference to the overall look of what I consider a finished table.

The only thing I am not sure about here are the crabs, I don´t think I would like to sit with one of these staring at me! Mind you I do suffer from a fish phobia as well as being allergic to tequila! That is it though I am not a complete phobic!

Two New Stunning Beach Villas for Weddings in Marbella

Villa at Los Monteros
Yesterday we had an extremely busy day with lots of meetings and visits to new wedding venues here in Marbella and we are hugely excited to share with you our new properties available for your wedding here in southern Spain. We had a very productive day and there is more to come on the next blog post about weddings in Benahavis as well :)
We went out for the day, yesterday, to visit these new venues with the vision that these could be potential wedding venues for our clients and what really excited me with these two new stunning properties is that they are located right on the beach.
We get so many enquiries for beach style weddings, that up until now we could not really accommodate as the venues were not available or were hotels situated on the beach which is not the same when you wish to create your very personal day.
However, with the recession and property owners now looking at other revenue streams, we are delighted that they are contacting us and putting their trust in us to showcase these amazing properties and making them available for weddings and events. There is a silver cloud to every lining!
Stunning is a word that can only describe both of the properties I visited yesterday and what I loved was the fact you could hear the waves, one of my favorite past times is to sit on the beach listening to the waves, there is nothing more magical :) I could think of nothing more romantic than getting married by the beach but perhaps I am biased! I am known for heading to the beach in the summer even if it is for an hour to sit and listen to the waves and people watch :)
Both the properties we viewed yesterday are now on our books as wedding venues and the first property is situated in the Los Monteros area, east of Marbella. It is ideally located near the Los Monteros hotel, the Vincci hotel and the Don Carlos hotel and is available on a daily rental basis meaning you do not have to commit for a minimum amount of days.
The second property below is situated in the Guadalmina side of town, near Puerto Banus and next door practically to the Guadalmina hotel, again right on the beach. Again you do not have to commit to a certain amount of days. It is set in fabulous grounds with an orange grove to host a cocktail in and then leading through the property to the 'back garden' with the pool and stunning gardens.
Both properties are stunning locations and sleep 10 people and we work with excellent caterers and a whole host of suppliers that can move into the properties to create your dream day, including us of course :)
If you would like more information about either properties please do just send us an email for more information on laura@reviva-weddings.com or call me on 0034 618021172.

Villa at Guadalmina

All these photos were taken by us yesterday in January without the help of a professional photographer so if they look good here they will be even more stunning if done professionally in the summer!

Tropical Colours at the Suite del Mar Puente Romano Hotel

As winter arrives in Spain and we have started our December holidays here, I am tucked up on top of my radiator, so it is lovely to receive photos of our weddings of hot sunny tropical days!! I do love to see our weddings but sometimes do not get the photos, Liz kindly sent me hers this weekend and also said it was strange viewing them whilst she was surrounded by snow in the UK!
It is always a good starting point when you are planning a destination wedding to consider the colours of that country, normally bright tropical flowers are in abundance here in Spain, with hot pinks, oranges, reds, purples and yellows and it always works well in the hot sunshine to reflect these colours in your wedding.
Liz definitely wanted a bright coloured wedding, using predominently pinks and yellows and was happy to leave the details to us but a definite decoration Liz loved was the tissue pom poms and wanted a fun vibrant wedding day.
We created some gorgeous bouquets for Liz and her bridesmaids and the boys had hot pink rose buttonholes. For the church we provided fans dressed in hot pink and lemon ribbons with personalised tags.
The reception was held at the fabulous beach setting in the Suite Del Mar at Puente Romano hotel, which has undergone lots of refurbishments including glass windows and doors installed ready for the winter season, it looks amazing, one of our favorite venues here in Marbella.
We decorated the Suite del Mar with a mixture of pink and yellow lanterns and pom poms, the effect was lovely and certainly added a party element into the day. On the tables we created beautiful brightly coloured floral arrangements in glassware filled with lemons and limes and surrounded with pink and lemon tealights, it looked stunning.
Pom poms are definitely the way forward next year, and Reviva Weddings now offer them as part of our decoration range, we will blog wedding trends over the winter as well but this is one we will see a lot of next year.
It was wonderful to hear from Liz and David and here is their testimonial.

Dear Laura
I wanted to drop you a note to say thank you to you and your team for our wedding back in September.
We were really pleased with the flowers and the Decoration at the Suite Del Mar.
I know that it was a pretty rough brief that I gave you due to my lack of knowledge about flowers but I was really impressed by the outcome and it was exactly how I envisaged it.
The bright colours and ceiling decoration definitely gave us the party feel we were looking for.
Speaking to my brother who went to see the venue in the morning and was a bit shocked by the amount of water due to the rain the day before, I imagine you all worked really hard in getting it looking as great as it was.
Thanks for all your hard work and it looked amazing.
