I spy my little eye, a bike made of wood

Off Cut Studio was created by Toronto local Cameron MacLean. Through his work as a furniture maker he comes across a continuous supply of small wood offcuts unsuitable for furniture. Over the last few years Cameron has developed a series of designs aimed at making use of these offcuts. They are largely inspired by clean and simple shapes, as well as an affinity for retro design. Sycamore Street Press: A Summer Bike Ride

Don't these photos make you want to take a long, leisurely bike ride? Someone stole my bicycle a few years ago, and I still haven't replaced it. But as the weather warms up, I've been hankering for another.

Amish Made Scooters

Cited by Billie and Tootie at Reform School, "these Amish Made Scooters are the most fun in town (no joke)!" And aren't they the cutest things ever? Apparantly these puppies can turn on a dime and are made with ball bearing wheels, high speed aluminum racing rims, air tires, welded steel construction and a rear foot brake. Manufactured in the U.S.A. on a real Amish farm, the scooters come in 3 sizes. 16", 20" & 24". The 16" is recommended for kids ages 6 to 12. The 20" for young teens to adult and the 24" for those of you 6ft and over. They are the same scooters that are used on a daily basis by the Amish people in Pennsylvania. We know it's fall, and getting a little colder to ride that bike; but here in Vancouver some ride it probably all year round (give or take the odd winter storm that stops by). it's bike month!

It's bike month in in many cities we think, it was just bike to work week here in Vancouver and to go with that the folks at Fred Flare have these awesome mini paintings (limited edition) for sale at their site by Christine Schmidt of Yellow Owl Workshop. Click here for the direct link. And speaking of bikes, I'm really excited about my new bike I picked up a couple weeks ago. It's a Canadian made Asama (Euro 1 model). A much cheaper alternative to the more expensive dutch brands.
