We're excited too that our newest online Holiday Market is "live today" and partaking in the festivities! Pssssst! We've got it all figured out; no need to head out in the hustle and bustle, just curl up with a nice hot chocolate and let your fingers do the shopping from the comforts of your home or (ahem, office). Beat the rush, beat the crowds and buy handmade!

For those of you new to our site, how it works is, when you see something you like, just click on the name of the artist coinciding with their image, and when you are at their "virtual table" and wish to purchase, just click on "buy" which will take you to their online shop, be it Etsy, etc and you then deal directly with the artist. This direct connection brings you some great prices and helps support artists/designers directly!

One of our favorite Canadian designers, bookhou, owned by Toronto's husband and wife team, John Booth and Arounna Khounnoraj have now opened a brick and mortar. The space is located on Dundas street west in downtown Toronto - it's a space with their studio is directly in the back - clients can come and see where they make things as well. They are currently running printing workshops limited to four people per class and starting soon they will also be displaying a featured artist/designer.

The best place to holiday shop? ummm...

Today we launch our Holiday Market at Poppytalk Handmade (for those of you who don't know, it's a curated monthly-themed online marketplace featuring artists, designers and indie shops from around the world). And now that we're well on our way into our 2nd year, and we know we've said this before, but this time we think it's really true, that this is the best market so far! Really, we are truly truly honoured to be representing this amazing talented group of people, and we hope that this holiday season, you will consider buying handmade!
