Basket Case

Love this wicker binocular or fishing basket I just spotted over at Etsy tonight. I must be crazy posting it, as I'll be crushed if someone buys it and I miss out on it (while I sleep on it). Happened to me last week with a typewriter. But I just had to post about it anyway as it reminded me of this post I did last year on a great organizing idea for the kitchen.

laundry day + organization

organizing just seems to come with january, and this year the longing to get more organized is that much stronger than any other year, (part of that may be because we have been living in reno-land for a year and a half and no where near completion); but there has to be a way for both, no? so what does a laundry room have to do with this you ask. nothing. this one from february's canadian house & home just looks so organized and i really like two things about it. the pegboard and pegboard accessories (the pods are from ikea) and that nice little skirt around that sink, they make the room don't you think? i'm off to home depot (for the peg board and accessories) to get some sort of sense of something. oh and as a side, it was a fun surprise to see oorbee roy's home in print there. oorbee is the maker of those great pillows that graced poppytalk handmade this fall. her company is om home.

footprint shoe rack + bed springs

my friend alex pointed me in the direction of this footprint shoe rack (above) she saw in the globe and mail this past weekend from inhabitshop.com. it's a wall mounted, modular rack designed in response to the huge growth in city living where space is at a premium. and then i spotted this one (below) while thumbing through boligliv.nu (for those bigger closets - or not). thanks alex!
