last year i was so disappointed i didn't participate in this, and i'm certainly going to try this year as it looks like so much fun to do! a holiday ornament swap hosted by kathleen and nicole from freshly blended and cake and pie blogs. sign ups will be held from monday, november 5th to friday, november 9th on either of their blogs.

wow. i *love* this shop! came across foundling while looking at vendors for the handmade market in raleigh (took place today), which i applied to but didn't get in (no sour grapes!) -- everyone's stuff is so inspiring!

betsy of foundling makes treasures from vintage + repurposed/recycled materials, a pastime very close to my heart -- the poppy pins above come in a glorious range of colors (love the idea of a red one on the big white dress, or red bobby pin poppies in the hair). (or one at the waist to jazz up plain bridesmaid dresses.) plus there's beautiful delicate resin jewelry using vintage papers and maps. so, so lovely. le sigh. wish i could have seen them in person today!

Our new November Market will be opening on Monday, November 5th! We are busy setting up virtual tables and sweeping virtual floors for our November Poppytalk Handmade Market! It's a "Holiday and Gift" themed month-long market, filled with many beautiful juried items such as handmade letterpressed Christmas Cards, ornaments, unique gifts and even a few clothes! she has dreamed of having her own little shop ever since she was a little girl and played 'boutique'. she never dreamed of the internet, but it has helped make her little girl dream into a reality and on Nov. 1st, jen from the blog, indiefixx opened her virtual shop doors. the shop is an extension of indiefixx, so she will be continuing the goal of promoting indie designers & products and only carrying handmade independently designed & created goods. those goodies will range from the whimsical to the practical and offerings will include everything from home decor, gifts, jewelry, art, accessories, bath & body products, paper goodies, crafts & more! congrats jen!

amyb13 - letterpress style shots

two adorable style shots sent in by amy13. i like how she pulled in the colors she used on the cards from her props (red and white baby blocks) and (blue wall and wine colored bowl). she makes these beautiful letterpressed cards on soft white cardstock that's made in italy and has a lovely texture. each card comes with a coordinating pool color envelope.
