New Market: Here Comes the Sun!

Beautiful New Collection from Bliss in a Teacup

I've been waiting patiently for the launch of this new collection and first range of wood necklaces from Vancouver duo, Bliss in a Teacup and it doesn't disappoint! Becka and Richard have exquisite taste and a heap of talent and have created another superior handmade product with this discarded mahogany boat material along with a piece of cocobolo piece that Richard had left over from studying cabinet making. Strung on a fine, platinum coated chain, the grain really shows itself off. There are many other designs and all now available in their etsy shop here.

Another new participant this month at Poppytalk Handmade is Christine Domanic Jewelry. We love the idea that all of her jewelry is handmade from vintage components and organic or recycled fibers and created in her 100% wind powered home studio located in Brooklyn, New York.

Fun Fact: Christine also works for Etsy in the merchandising department and is the author of Get the Look Decor column, one of my favorite weekly posts over there.

Polli Gives You Butterflies

Earlier this year I wrote about some beautiful tea light shades by Polli out of Australia; and now they've come out with these amazing new limited edition range of large hand finished necklaces. The unique eco friendly pieces are made in Polli’s Sydney studio using recycled brass and stainless steel, colored kangaroo leather, and reclaimed hessian coffee bean bags and leather.

Just got word of this sweet little video on Figs & Ginger one of our participants at Poppytalk Handmade this month. A group of BFF's called DuckDuck Collective were asked by Levi Strauss to go on a road trip for 30 days to 30 cities filming one story each day of people around America (talk about a cool gig). One evening last summer they wound up meeting Elijah and Rhonda Wyman, who just happened to run their own eco-friendly jewelry business, which, as it turns out, is quite interesting. They spent the next day with them (and Crash-Dog!) and this video is their story. We love their pink holiday trailer turned studio! You can see Figs & Ginger's work here and here.
