pbteen saves the day

the folks at pbteen are always thinking. and thankfully for me, i can download these gift tags last minute since i forgot to pick some up (and i'm too scared to hit the masses out there just for that)! they also have downloadable holiday cards you can print out if you need an extra.

hbc ottoman

if this doesn't scream canadian, what does? for those who don't know what i'm talking about. the classic hudson's bay company's point blanket, a well known canadian symbol, covers an ottoman. perfect for the ski cabin or if you're living abroad and long for some canadiana. upholstered in 100% wool. $695 CDN.

it reminds me of this.

gathering ornaments (part iv)

another snowflake, definitely the theme for me this year, and this one from rare device is even lucky, (so it says on their site).

so anything lucky and something that is a snowflake has to be included in my 2006 ornament posts! (oh, and it's a greeting card! double bonus!)

wish books

it was called a wish book when i was a kid, (a christmas catalogue) and i would spend hours and hours paging through and dreaming of the gifts that could be under our tree.

view a 1956 eaton's christmas catalogue from library and archives canada.

it's a history of canadian mail-order catalogues (1880 - 1975).

40's packaging

not only is this log building set a great toy, i'm really attracted to this 1940's style packaging right now.

note the wood font, classic illustration, reds and browns. the green is the only thing i'd change, (wish it was darker). more vintage game packaging.

tna - call for submissions

tna is a canadian west coast clothing company. they support and are inspired by local artists and like to be an active part in the north west coast culture.

so they are asking for submissions for their submissions series. as stated on their website, "vancouver is the backdrop of tna, the landscape that inspires us to create. as the core of that landscape, we want to see the north west coast through your eyes. show us what inspires, drives and excites you... or what flat out makes you laugh. submit your beautiful photos, amazing illustrations and great graphics. we’ll take our favourites and showcase them through our website, stickers and posters and show the world what makes our north west coast culture so incredible."

they also have the most amazing long and comfortably thin t-shirts!

magnetic dolls

i've always had a thing for paper dolls. whenever i was sick as a child i remember my grandmother would stop by with a big orange and a paper doll book. and i know if i was a little girl now i would love to get these magnetic ones and i think i would love to have the city girls one. with the paris cafe and shoe store as a background, oh the imagining to be done!

these ones from mudpuppy come as world travelers, ballerinas, princesses and city girls. great for taking in the car or places on the move.

greetings from the trailer

oh i have to take a break from all the christmas cheer here and these hand-drawn in ink airstream greeting cards from woodgrain are working wonders.

there are four different illustrations to choose from, (this one, is a 1951 airstream cruisettea). i can't believe these cards are hand-drawn individually! they would be so fun framed.

that's amore!

i'm always a sucker for a look that reminds me of those dean martin show sets you see on those infomercials. i love watching those, the idea of an elevator that arrives into your high rise space age bachelor pad and the pole you slide down from the second floor along with the buttoned leather upholstered furniture. and that's what this image here reminds me of. the baroque frame decals seem to pull that feel together. these ones from moderndose.com.

wood burning

i remember my brother getting a woodburning kit for christmas one year. what i would give to see some of those creations today and wonder what ever happened to them. i still remember the smell of that tool and how i wish it was still around. getting inspriation from these local woodburning gals, i'm having a whirlwind of woodburning visions from plaques, trays and pencil cases. on my hunt a few links to share if you are like-minded:

carving patterns, creative woodburning kit (i'm especially liking this one with the basswood country rounds); the woodburner (a great resource on pyrography). also check out this cute little woodburnt welcome sign by bella dia i found on flickr!

have tea, will travel

i immediately loved this when i saw it! delphine from leaf shop emailed to tell me about this leaf tea travel kit. now i am not a tea toddler myself, but i know a tea drinker when i see one. and i know how particular they are about their teas. and if this isn't the best gift for a tea fan that travels! (or even if it's just to tote to work!) designed in wool felt!

the bag was designed exclusively for leaf by parisian designer les petites emplettes in grey wool felt and other natural materials. the kit includes 6 mini refillable tins of teas of your choice and little filters.

available for purchase at leaf for £35 .

gathering ornaments (part iii)

oh, to have a tree full of these crystal snowflake ornaments!

$8.95 a pop!

saw them at liberty (here in vancouver).

give a polaroid!

i just love this latest polaroid print up in madit's etsy shop. there's a certain peacefulness to her picture taking and she captures it so well. and what could be better than capturing them in a polaroid that you can have for your very own! and i just read she has a special offer for the Holiday season, the "Holiday Set": 2 Single Prints, 1 big Polaroid Colors Poster, 2 small wintery prints and a gift tag!! hurry while they last! (the latest date to order for international customers would be this sunday!!)

small stump

i received an email yesterday from jill of small stump telling me about her banner she'd made and thought i would enjoy it. not only that, but her products at her etsy shop are so adorable! of course i dig anything with a wood grain, and they've got the wood grain, along with some other adorable forest friends in the mix. i'm especially digging the wood holiday banner, mushroom print and stump pillow! fun stuff!

trees + design public

there's something about evergreens in a winter scene that bring memories of home and christmas time. so maybe that's why this pillow from eleventwentyfive + design public is catching my eye today. what a great pillow for the season

and i love all these lovely balsa wall hangings from salvor fauna that oh joy posted about yesterday. love the bold colors and graphics in contrast with the photographic images. available online at design public.

oh, rockett st george! one of my newest favorite online stores (thanks to grace)! has some new stuff that i just had to share and when i saw these pink doilies i immediately thought of our white table and dishes that could definitetly use a blast of color like that retro pink! wow! created by the very talented LovelyLovely girls and the vinyl makes it so easy to wipe up. also a small wooden tape measure is the best gift idea and i'm already imagining whipping it out at every possible opportunity. a white iron bed painted in antique white with a slight distressed effect. i'm thinking about this one alot (it comes in a range of sizes)! some gorgeous greeting cards by wallpaper designer, kim robertson that are hand screen-printed using parchment type paper. she also has designed these suede notebooks, also screen-printed and applied onto luxurious suede. lovely new stuff for the home to check out!

not neutral

just finished browsing through not neutral's catalogue last night and found these adorable snowflake garden stakes and tree decorations that would bring so much joy and happiness to me. the garden stakes out in all the strange snow we have out there would really make my day each time i looked out.

and i am also pining over all their dishes! the bare trees, the swirly swirls. just for happiness sake, download the catalogue.
