retro psychedelic motifs of morocco
i loved this mix of retro psychedelic 60's moroccan motif's that was featured in marie claire maison this month. retro arabic signage and paint cans incorporated into furniture, mixed with pattern after pattern. somehow it all works and is just nice visually for a change and point of view.

rae dunn
these are such great ceramics from rae dunn out of san francisco. inspired by those red + white striped pepperment candies, these festive or anytime mugs would be so great for that mug of hot cocoa. each one has a different word on the front and bac and a red stitch detail running down the front, inside and back of the mug.
also this pourer (for anything that pours) is so sweet. i like the word "pour", the font used, it's placement along with the graphic and matte finish.

also, these house numbers carved into pumpkins from sunset magazine (photo - Rob D. Brodman) look so inviting.

shotgun wedding reception bar and party lights
oh, but wait. these are too much! mwahaha, shotgun wedding lights. hilarious. and they're technically upcycled -- repurposed fired hulls -- in silver, gold, or r-r-red. a brilliant gift for those gittin' hitched in a hurry.

you may have noticed, faithful reader, that i have shied away from the vast subject of bridal jewelry. mainly because i find it stupidly repetitive -- freshwater pearl, freshwater pearl, swarovski crystal, natch. white rice jewelry. but that's not helping you, now is it? so i pledge over the next few weeks to seek out something new and different in the bridal set department -- let me know if you have your own etsy favorites you'd like to nominate (send a note if you like) with my thanks!
new site alert! nantaka joy!
congrats to joy and the launch of her new website for her beautiful papergoods line, nantaka joy! it's now live! beautiful designs just in time for the holidays!

claire cole wallcoverings
the the new york times featured uk designer, claire cole recently in their currents post on wallcoverings she pieces together from vintage wallpapers. she picks up old wallpapers from flea markets and charity shops and then cuts out the flowers, birds, etc and sews them onto other antique papers with a loose and delicate stitch, using an embroidery machine. sometimes she adds bits of flocked paper, felt, leather and gems. she was widely blogged about this past year about her embroidered tables, but i hadn't seen these papers or her ceramics.
