A Gorgeous Bathroom Facelift

I had to mash up these images (à la Bright Bazaar) today and share with you this gorgeous bathroom featured in the October issue of Style at Home.  Did you notice the tiled floor? Home owner (singer-songwriter) Matt Dusk with designer Yanic Simard of Toronto Interior Design Group gave his 60 square-foot bathroom an epic facelift featuring a modern clean look, elegant whites, rich wood accents with a European twist. The beautiful mosaic (100 percent recycled) tiled floor took three artisans 14 days to lay and the Eames walnut stool pulls the room together perfectly.  Stunning! 20 of the Best Wallpapers (for Kids)!

Wallpapers and kids rooms are like peanut butter and jam; they just go together and today  I’ve rounded-up the best 20 kids wallpapers I’m aware of online from around the globe over at Babble.  From Fine Little Day’s cute Gran wallpaper (above) out of Sweden to Mini Moderns from the UK.  All of them equally adorable in their own way and most of them ship to North America!  Check them all out HERE.

New Pillows from Khiti

Nikki Martin a designer/artist based out of Brooklyn is back at Poppytalk Handmade this month with some new pillows added to her collection Khiti.  You may recall her a while back and her adorable popular Missing Sock posters.  I'm loving these latest silkscreen designs of hers which were created from an illustration and then hand printed.  Nikki studied Interior Design at Pratt Institute in New York and eventually gravitated towards print design. The inspiration for her designs comes from nature, photography, fashion, interior design and architecture. i keep thinking about this twiggy lamp from moth design at toronto's industrial storm ever since i saw it in may's issue of canadian house and home. such a cute thing.

oiseaux *elle

peace and softness is what i thought of when if first saw these oiseaux *elle by café secret. modeled in clay, carefully smoothed and painted to the "plumage" of your choice, signed then varnished.

i'm imagining the light these tea lights and hurricane lamps would splash out against a wall. flickering flowers perhaps? pretty white ceramic lights for the deck.

love this issa dining chair. sort of a scandinavian meets japanese design. from kozai designs of vancouver. japanese designer noriyuki ebina developed the chair from a perspective of a 60's danish retro look, but with the japanese edges. available in both arm and side versions.

on the hunt for a solution to our small hallway closet dilemma, i've been searching down entryway storage solution ideas and stumbled upon this perforated laquered steel drip hat rack from the swedish design group "the swedes".

tunto of finland

i'm really liking this finnish company i happened upon called, tunto. their pieces are a little edgier and i like the idea of not taking a room so seriously like adding something like their skede chair to a hall entry way for example.

loving their m3 boxes (above). use as a chair, storage or double them up to make a unique coffee table. the m3 seat has been designed by mikko kärkkäinen. the patterns and illustrations have been designed by pablo steffa, jani tolin, miika saksi, tomi freeman and jan fagerroos of njoi colab.

these swings made up of layered pieces of birch wood.



the frame of the kukka table is made out of compressed birch veneer and the top is birch plywood. the surface of the table is finished with a beautiful matte varnish. available with a jani tolin illustration (kukka tolin) or in plain colour (kukka blanko).

sfgirlbybay bedroom redux

i'm loving what victoria (sfgirlbybay) has done re-arranging her bedroom. i love doing stuff like that, removing doors, making nooks out of closets, and completely juggling everything around. and when the outcome is as beautiful as hers, i would just sit there and stare at it and be so happy if i had did that. go see if you haven't already!

art or tv?

here's a different take on a tv unit. this easel-like piece will hold your plasma tv in a unique way. it'll also save the issues that go with hanging plasma's on walls with all that hardware that goes with it.
