New Pillows from Khiti

Nikki Martin a designer/artist based out of Brooklyn is back at Poppytalk Handmade this month with some new pillows added to her collection Khiti.  You may recall her a while back and her adorable popular Missing Sock posters.  I'm loving these latest silkscreen designs of hers which were created from an illustration and then hand printed.  Nikki studied Interior Design at Pratt Institute in New York and eventually gravitated towards print design. The inspiration for her designs comes from nature, photography, fashion, interior design and architecture. Check out more from her shop including other prints at her table at Poppytalk Handmade or online below:

My Bearded Pigeon {100% Organci}

My Bearded Pigeon is the grown up brand of crafter Cath Young from children's brand chunky chooky.  Cath lives with her husband, daughter and big old dog on a few acres on the edge of the small green town of Bellingen on the Mid North Coast of NSW, Australia.  Fun fact:  Her home was featured on the Etsy blog recently, you can have a look here.

Cath makes these exclusive atlas (and photographic) cushions using 100% certified organic cotton.  All pillows are available for selected countries, cities and continents or you can get them all in a giant organic world map cushion cover which is twice the size of a standard bed pillow.  Visit  My Bearded Pigeon online:

Shopping in Norway: hviit

I came across a really nice shop online over the weekend from Norway called hviit.  They have so many "new to me" things, maybe you actually have to go see too?  I was excited to find out they sell internationally as well.  This wall pocket called appropriately enough Wally would certainly tame the chaos in our house.  And see that owl pillow in the corner?  That line also makes some really sweet children's bedding (think night adventures with the forest's biggest teddy bear) which I posted about today on at Babble.  Really nice stuff.

Build Your Block Pillow

Recreate a Brooklyn street in your own home with these Build Your Block Pillows by Patrick Chirico.  Inspired by deli's, brownstones, and abandoned buildings that he walked past daily in his Brooklyn neighborhood, he translated the images into a pillow collection so that people could be urban planners or just lay their heads in the streets of New York City.  Available at Design Public.

New Skinny Laminx Pillows

Always a favourite here, South Africa's skinny laminx has some new pillows in her shop this week made from her beautiful textile pattern, Duikers. This design has ancient origins: the little drawing of a duiker that she used in repeat is taken from a 2000-year-old cave drawing in the Cedarberg, just a few hours north of Cape Town. It's part of her Sevilla Rock collection of screenprinted fabrics, all available in yardage.

The Duikers design is screenprinted with waterbased ink onto 100% cotton with a linen-look slubby texture, and overdyed in a natural tone. It's backed in natural toned cotton/linen, , and closes with a zip at the base. (Also available in green).

I adore linen

new inklore
new inklore

I've been drawn to linen lately for the home. I've been seeing alot of it too, or is it like that, maybe it's always been around, but it's like when you buy a VW you see thousands of them? Nonetheless, whatever the case may be, I'm loving these new pillows from Inklore made with natural linen and decorated with bronze ink. Perfect to add a little sparkle to your room.

bentwood, the kitchen gnome + pillows

going through the domino flickr pool last night i came across a home i featured last week, the kitchen gnome and see martina has uploaded a few more shots to her house set and i'm loving the one with her new table and chair set. both grace and victoria have been talking about bentwood chairs this summer and i love martina's version with these painted white feet. speaking of domino, they have a fantastic contest going on right now where if you enter a photo of your best decorated room you could win $10,000. sounds like fun to me.

while reading the kitchen gnome blog she has begun a sweet new children's clothing line called gesundheit clothing out of portland, oregon. there, i found these sweet linen pillows with abstract silk appliqué poppies and another with vintage buttons and a blue white cotton ticking on the back. i adore these.
