rollingwood

a nice little slideshow modtex allowed me to show here of the rollingwood home. beautiful examples of mid century modern not over done. i don't have a lot of information to share on this space, however inspirational nonetheless.

robot jumping rope home

i love the laid back style of estea's home in kansas city. from the pajama hook beside her kids beds, the chalkboard painted dressers, to the container that holds the chalk. a real relaxed and cozy looking home. you can see more on her flickr stream by clicking here for a slideshow or visit her blog, robot jumping rope. thanks estea for sharing these! so worth the look!

more swedish inspiration

i seem to be attracted to swedish magazine sköna hem these days. perhaps it's just the need to see different things, being so saturated on this side of the world with many of the same images. i also seem to be a little slideshow crazy at the moment, but i kind of go in phases with these kind of things and i'm sure it will pass, and well until then, here's another mini slideshow . i especially like the room with the guitar in it.

a kitchen gnome's home - slideshow

martina from kitchen gnome posted a set of images from her home up on the domino flickr pool recently and has allowed me to show her unique style sense here. i instantly loved the way she has combined her mid-century and vintage pieces to created these cozy little vignettes. see it all as a slideshow here. thanks martina!

hippyxic's home in portugal

hippyxic has been a contact of mine for a while on flickr and i've always been amazed at her use of color. each time i see one of her images it's always so colorful and happy. i emailed her to ask her if she'd mind sharing her pictures here on poppy as a slideshow. as an interior designer for the past 22 years, lu says she's always inspired by bohemian style, with a little kitch. she loves french magazines such as cote sud, cote ouest, maison magazine, le journal de la maison, as well as german and english ones like living etc.

in portugal lu says they don´t have many stores, but she loves to go to ikea, habitat, (she has been a decorater for habitat stores) and she loves zara home. other things she finds in the garbage, as she says she is so lucky because she really does gets great finds on her hunts. she lives in a village which is very old and pretty, "SINTRA" that is a world heritage spot and on her walks she always finds something. things like this and this and this! even furniture as well! many other things are made by her, such as the pillows and curtains. she loves to put old things with new ones and she always tries to see other functions for an object or piece of furniture. thanks for sharing with us lu! click here for the slideshow.
