Saturday's Wedding

Keeping with our new Saturday's Wedding tradition (we got a little off track there for a few weeks), today we bring you a fairytale Ottawa wedding produced by Marry Me Productions. What swept me with this wedding was the bride's hair, isn't it gorgeous?  And her one-of-a-kind Vera Wang dress.   The wedding took place at the Canadian Museum of Civilization which overlooks the City of Ottawa, a perfect setting for their out-of-town guests.  Visit Style Me Pretty for all the beautiful images and details of this elegant affair.

Saturday's Wedding

Wedding's always get me, and I thought for a sometimes new Saturday column, I'd post about one or two that have caught my eye.  This one I just couldn't resist.  From the viewmaster invites to the nostalgic souvenirs and romantic road trip-inspired design; this concept has got to be one of my favourites I've seen so far. Invites designed by Melangerie and concept by Melangerie and Rock, Paper, Scissors Events.  Via Project Wedding. (Photographed by Jen Huang). Original post at Style Me Pretty.

Air Plant Love

I can't seem to get enough of air plants lately. I see them popping up everywhere. These little gems are from Flora Grubb Gardens. Tiny mosses, lichen, and Tillandsia growing happily in darling cube terrariums. The photos are from Flora Grubb's brother's wedding (Jonathan Grubb & Kestrin Pantera) that their floral designer Suzie arranged for the special occasion. A wedding that was the talk of the internet recently; where we found out even the bride's bouquet and their wedding cake was adorned with the plant. According to the NY Times, the bride, Kestrin hates to "kill" flowers so she chose a bouquet of tillandsia, because it feeds off air. So sweet don't you think? If you by any chance didn't hear about it ; there are some beautiful photo's from their photographer, Feather Love here; a link to their most awesome vows here and here and a feature at Style Me Pretty here.

James Moes Photography

This past week we celebrated the The Poppies and the best part of the awards event was meeting all these "new to me" artists, designers, photographers, et al! And one of them is Pacific Northwest photographer, James Moes who specializes in wedding and engagement photography. And he does it so well, he won Favourite Photographer in the Jury's Choice alongside, Elisabeth of Fine Little Day. And ever since I ran into his blog, I've been wishing to get re-married all over again just to get our photos taken. And since we are focusing on weddings and valentines this month, James was willing to share some of his best with us. Here I've picked these engagement photos to show of local couple, Natalie and Lukas. Figure skating instructor and perhaps, fireman-to-be. Snowboarders and Canadians. James shot these over two days near and on top of Grouse Mountain (a local ski hill just 15 minutes and up a gondola ride from downtown). James shoots pictures from Vancouver all the way down to Portland, Oregon. See more of his awesome talent here and here!

Happy Cakes!

Picture 8

Yesterday Andrea wrote about how a string of garland can pretty much fix anything, and we couldn't help but add these sweet British stamp cake garlands to the mix. A really sweet idea for a wedding cake, each stamp is cut and scored by hand and are adjustable on the line. Made with quality off white beading twine and archival glue. Each garland is unique, made from issued British stamps. Visit d. Sharp to see the entire collection.

And unrelated: We posted the 5th Vote category in our Poppies awards. Click here to vote for your Favourite Handmade Eco Artist.

If you are having a vintage, romantic, barnyard or even a traditional wedding, these frame table settings are a perfect accent for the big day. I even like them as gifts, favors, or decor! A lovely marriage: Pee Pants Script Font + Round Robin Press

This past February I posted about a font called Pee Pants Script (the funniest font name ever) and today I received an email from designer Shannon Lowry of Round Robin Press (remember her plantable cards); who recently designed a letterpressed wedding invitation set using the font, and I just had to post it here. She did such an awesome job, from the invite itself to the cute menu cards and pre-ceremony festivities. I just love the stringed lights. See it all at her blog here. And congratulations to the happy couple, Natasha and Lachlan!
