moa grand hall

the museum of anthropology at the university of british columbia here in Vancouver has a great hall that was designed by architect, Arthur Erikson, that when you walk into it you are in awe. i don't know if it's the floor to ceiling 15 meter windows that look out onto the ocean and coastal mountains, or if it's the ancient totem poles inside that do it, well, probably a combination of it all, but you just get this feeling you'd like to stay there. some homes have that same sense about them, there is just a vibe, that feels right. i'm longing for a space like that to call home, and really settle into. the photo shown here of the great hall doesn't really give it justice, however if you go to their site, you can see a bigger version and hopefully get what i mean. a great space.
