gallery hanahou - illustration à la mode

gallery hanahou and CWC Group present "Illustration à la Mode", Contemporary Commercial Illustration and the Artists Behind It, now through October 31.

In the 21st century, illustration is more popular than ever in branding, advertising, and fashion. This September, gallery hanahou teams up with the artists of CWC Group to present the public with an exhibit of international commercial illustration from recent years, encompassing everything from collaborations with top fashion designers to global ad campaigns to children's books. Projects big and small are represented, for a comprehensive study of the latest trends and innovations in the marketable image.

The artist-selected commercial projects are accompanied by glimpses into each artist's creative process and personality via sketches, inspirational photographs, and non-commercial work. As the artists behind the commercial art emerges, the show takes on multilayered meanings for visitors: creative professionals may find inspiration for new projects, art students will gain insight into a compelling profession, and the general public will discover a fresh perspective on the captivating images they see every day.
