gallery hanahou in ny has put together what looks to be an awesome show called, bilderklub (picture club), an online art experiment, in the flesh being held january 17 to february 20th. four years work of artists impressions, whims, dreams and nightmares (over 450 images) will download from the web to the walls of gallery hanahou. the exhibit is the physical incarnation of www.bilderklub.de, a berlin-based experimental platform and virtual community where professional illustrators share their visual lives, via personal drawings, sketches and photographs uploaded on an ongoing, everyday basis.
with work from tina berning, lulu*, julia pfaller, sascha bierl, maria tackmann, regina heinlein, gisela goppel and others. and what's really cool is the artwork will be exhibited as limited-edition 5"x5" prints, available at on $12 each. the affordable price, inspired by bilderklub's mission of everyday creativity, means that visitors can purchase handfuls of art, and they can also take their prints home with them on the spot. prints will be available online via gallery hanahou beginning january 21.
