Chintz Chic

Chintz is the term used originally for calico cloth printed with flowers, imported from countries such as India in the 17th Century. Now the term applies to all pretty flower covered patterns on any fabric, which is widely used and a favourite in Shabby Chic or retro vintage interior design schemes. Translated into styling for weddings, this look is extremely feminine so you may want to warn your groom! Use a strict colour scheme, perhaps one with differing shades of one colour such as pink complimented by white and beige. Add quirky little touches such as lots of different vases for your table scaping using old ceramic milk jugs and sugar jars. Be ware... don't go overboard or your wedding will look like it was styled by your grandma. Keep it light and fresh with a minimalist edge.
