Kate Banazi + A Nice Set
Kate Banazi (an artist out of Sydney, Australia) has become one of our favorite as of late, in fact we can hardly wait to see our latest purchase, Dedication, a limited edition silkscreen print of hers ( see below) which is travelling across the Pacific as we speak. While searching through her flickr this past weekend we came across an exhibition she's involved in called, A Nice Set.
A Nice Set is a touring exhibition of sets of slip mats by 33 1/3 artists and a book. They're slipmats that go between the turntable and the vinyl, they're 12" circles of thick felt. Curated by Plus et Plus, concept in collaboration with the reed space & published by IdN. See and buy mats. The info isn't updated for the Melbourne exhibition on the site yet, but there's some great work up there. Hers are sold, but she'll happily do them to order if anyone wants one. Just contact her through her etsy shop, alyoisiusspyker.etsy.com.
