Advent calendars come in so many different sizes and colors now a days; when we were growing up we remember the homemade one's the most or the one's in a lift-the-flap book with pictures as the reward. The german chocolate one was a treat to open up each morning in December before we trekked through the snow to school. So we thought we'd offer up a few gems we found online to be inspired by (to make your own) or if you don't have enough time like us, perhaps help you with your very own hunt for a unique non-commercial type.
