The Perfect Place Setting I - The Napkin

Welcome to the first post in a series all about creating the perfect table settings. To follow will be stories on every tiny detail that makes up a gorgeous table, so keep an eye out for some innovative ideas.

The napkin happens to be one of the most overlooked items on a table setting at a wedding. It's such an opportunity to display some real ingenuity and personal style. Don't just stuff them in a wine glass and definately do not go for paper! Pay attention to the detail. What do you do when you sit down at a table? The first thing you stare at is your plate. So give your guests something to talk about. There are so many ways to fold a napkin. Not to mention colours, fabrics, sizes, and ways to decorate them - napkin rings alone come in so many different forms, from the humble ribbon or rosemary sprig to a jewelled metal ring. Be adventurous, it doesn't have to cost you an arm and a leg. A simple touch like a single flower on an unusually folded linen napkin is so affordably and very effective. Have a look below for some great ideas ranging from the affordable to the extravagent.
