Colour Scheme II - Lavender Cream and Chocolate

.

Autumn is the perfect time of year for a more subdued and earthy colour palette for a wedding. Instead of going the traditional reds oranges and browns, try lightening dark neutrals with more pastel hues. Lavender is a more unusual and fresh way to lighten an autumn wedding.

In keeping with the autumn theme add really natural elements to the styling with peasant feathers, twisted willow and baskets. Containers for flowers, like lilac hydrangeas, can be made from cheap boxes covered with thick textured fabrics like linen and raw silk.

A great idea for a cake stand this upturned basket adds real character to the styling. and has the added benefit of turning a small cake into a statement peice.

Introduce a feather motif to your wedding stationary to tie the whole look together.

Mix lilac hydrangeas, purple anemones, and passionfruit vine for a unique handtied bouquet.

Flower girls carry single stems of Alliums (you could also use Agapanthus).
